Intro

Paris Geller is the academic weapon. She is highly competitive and extremely goal-driven. She considers studying a way to prove, to herself and to others, that there is no way she could ever be dethroned as the number one straight-A student.

This guide is a deep dive into her study habits and mindset that made her a straight-A student, while making it easy for you to integrate them into your own study routine. So let’s go! <3

Table of Contents

Rule No. 1: Competing to get ahead.

“Competition is your friend. Use it to push yourself further.”

Instead of seeing competition as something to envy that makes you feel bad, view it as an opportunity to get ahead and learn how to do it. Draw inspiration from it. Ask questions and seek advice if you can. Or just stick around until you figure it out. Success likes company.

Rule No. 2: Get a study buddy

“I came here because of your reputation. Don’t make me destroy that reputation.”

Paris turns to Rory when she feels she is having difficulty concentrating or feels stuck in her studies. This allows her to reduce procrastination and distraction, as well as gather study material faster and understand it better.

Another benefit of having a study buddy is that you can teach each other and stay motivated. When looking for a study partner, be sure to find someone who is ready to commit.

To truly be like Paris, team up with those you see as your biggest competitors and unite your strengths.

Rule No. 3: To-do lists and goals to achieve

“Plan ahead. There’s no such thing as too prepared.”

Paris keeps a list of everything. This helps her stay determined. When she has a plan, she does everything she can to stick to it and accomplish it. She uses all the resources available to her, and one of them is lists.

Just like Paris, keep lists of everything that needs to be done. She is known to be very organized and reliable when she commits to something. Make a daily, weekly, and monthly list with all the tasks that need to be done, and be sure to include the goals you want to achieve.

One of the most effective ways to write a to-do list is to brainstorm and write down all the tasks for the next day before going to bed. Keep a weekly to-do list so that you don’t lose track. The most important appointments and tasks can be put on the monthly to-do list.

Rule No. 4: Prioritize and be prepared

“Sacrifice now, shine later. Social life is optional; success isn’t.”

Chilton Paris is willing to sacrifice her social life for her studies and her goals. She is driven by a greed for success and doesn’t take no for an answer. She is often seen getting what she wants.

She is not afraid to get into an argument or debate; quite the opposite, she is always prepared and literally ready to attack and achieve.

Rule No. 5: Focus on what you have control over

“I want to live my life so that I’ll be able to read an in‑depth biography about myself in later years and not puke.”

Yale Paris is all about controlling what you have control over and letting go of the things that are outside of that control. If you are struggling to understand what you have control over and what you don’t, get someone to assess the situation with you. Objective judgment never hurts, as long as that person has your best interests at heart.

Rule No. 6: It’s Either Perfect or Nothing

“Nothing, less than perfect will be tolerated.”
